Jahselyn Medina

Jahselyn Medina is a 13-year-old eighth grader at Gabriella Charter School (GCS). She enjoys many of her classes at school, but if she had to choose her favorites, they would be math and history. She finds both of these subjects more engaging because in math there are many creative ways to problem solve, and in history she learns about the past and how it will impact our future. Jahselyn participates in several extracurricular activities at her school, including Student Government, algebra, and her school dance team called Company K!ds.

Jahselyn has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She first started with everybody dance! when she was an 8-year-old at GCS. She has studied several forms of dance including jazz, ballet, hip hop, and modern. Jahselyn loves the everybody dance! program because she is taught by spectacular teaching artists who always push her to do her best. She knows that they will never give up on her, and that will always have high expectations of her and her future. Participating in everybody dance! over the years, Jahselyn has strengthened her confidence, self-esteem, and the ability to passionately dance like nobody’s watching.

In addition, she has been provided with many amazing opportunities, such as scholarships to summer art intensives and the chance to perform at events and Galas. Jahselyn has learned a lot through everybody dance!, most notably to never give up and always dream big. As humans, we regret many things in life but the everybody dance! program is something that Jahselyn will never regret. In the future, Jahselyn hopes to study medicine, majoring in chemistry and computer science. Her aspiration is to one day become a neurosurgeon and help those in need of recovery. She wants to have a job where she can help people and work for a good cause. She also wants to make her family proud.
