“The whole experience was the best day of my entire life,” Norbert said when asked about what it felt like to win the award. “It was the best day in my life as an artist and performer and it initiated a new beginning to my career. From the moment I took my bow, I knew that dancing is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”

When Norbert came to everybody dance! without any prior formal dance training, it was immediately clear to our dance instructors that Norbert had a gift.  Two years after joining the program, he was accepted to Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, from which he graduated in June.  He spent two summers on scholarship at ABT in New York City.  In addition to the Spotlight Award honor, this spring he also won first place ($20k award) in the Emerging Young Artists competition in the dance category.  This summer he attended the San Francisco Ballet school, and this fall has begun his studies as a freshman at the Juilliard School.  Both schools granted him scholarships to attend.
