Rojonna Handy was born and raised in New Haven, CT and has been dancing since she was one years old. Her aunt owned the most influential dance studio in Connecticut, and there Rojonna studied, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, West African, Vogue and Musical Theatre. At 14 Rojonna was teaching Ballet and Jazz for city-funded after school programs for low income students. In college she choreographed for Homecoming Dance Teams at Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina. Rojonna’s dance resume also includes choreographing and dancing for various local artists and appearances on commercials such as America’s Best Dance Crew. At 25, Rojonna continued the family business and opened her own dance studio in Hamden, CT. With a passion for dance and her community, Rojonna expanded her program to help underprivileged children and children with disabilities connect with the art of dance. Her students have competed in the American Dance Awards winning gold and higher. Currently Rojonna resides in Los Angeles, California where she is training in acting and dance.
