Yesenia Macedo-Lopez

Yesenia Macedo-Lopez is a native-Spanish speaker, born in Guerrero, Mexico and raised in South Central Los Angeles. As a first generation student, Yesenia graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Community Studies and Education. Inspired to learn more about other cultures, Yesenia moved and lived in NYC for twelve years. Prior to joining TGF, Yesenia developed into a seasoned, effective arts and social justice education leader and professional at DreamYard, an arts integration social justice organization in the Bronx. Yesenia participated in professional development opportunities such as, PASE/Baruch College Emerging Leaders Program, UCLArts and Healing Social Emotional Arts Learning Program, Columbia Developing Leaders Program and Racial Equity in the Arts Innovation Lab. As a passionate social dancer, Yesenia aspires to continue her career in dance education, social emotional arts learning and social equity work. Yesenia is excited to uplift and transform her own community.
